Level of Violence Gems
Each gemstone has a hardness different. The harder gemstones and so the higher level, and of course the more expensive price. Here is a list of gemstone hardness in the Mohs scale.
1. Diamonds Mohs hardness 10
2. Corondum Mohs hardness 9 (Ruby, Sapphire)
3. 8 Mohs hardness Beryl (emerald, aquamarine)
4. 7 Mohs hardness Quartz (Amethyst, Feldspar, agate / agate)
5. orthoclase Mohs hardness 6 (Calcite)
6. Apatite Mohs hardness 5 (azurite)
7. Fluorite 4 Mohs hardness (Tourmaline)
8. Calcite Mohs hardness 3 (Onyx, Marble, Agate)
9. Gypsum Mohs hardness 2 (cement)
Talc 10. Mohs hardness 1 (Silicon, Ceramics)
Mohs scale of the difference in reality is much harder. For example, four times the rigors diamond Ruby, while Ruby almost twice Emerald. A gem of a higher rank in the scale will scratch jewel lower.
Rock hardness can be easily tested with a nail, copper coins, knives and glass. If the stone can nail hardness can be scratched under 2, etched copper coins hardness 3, 6 kitchen knife violence, if it can scratch the glass hardness 7 and above, even diamonds can be used to cut glass. Another way to determine the hardness of stone that is the time smoothing the stone. Stones with a hardness above 8 must use diamond powder.
